Your puppy has received a health cerficate before leaving us. However, moving to a new home can be stressful on a young puppy.

The most important thing to remember and keep in mind, that your puppy is only 8 weeks or so old and is up to date on the vaccinations for his or her age. However, most vets will recommend that the vaccination schedule be continued until 12 or 16 weeks and usually ending with a rabies vaccination.  We recommend keeping your puppy out of parks and other public places until he or she has received the full schedule of vaccinations that your vet has recommended.  That is why we recommend the puppy be taken to the vet within 72 hours is to have another check up and to set up a vaccination and parasite control program for your puppy.

Things to look for-call us too, we may be able to help determine if you should take your puppy to the vet...

  • Diahrea
  • Vomiting
  • Listlessness
  • Runny eyes or nose
  • Loss of appetite
  • Scratching-besides the collar area
  • Straining during elimination
  • Pain during elimination
  • When in doubt-call!
